However, serious incidents are extremely rare, and every precaution is taken to ensure your experience is as safe as possible. With over 10 years of experience operating in the region, we have never had any major accidents.
Vaccine recommendations can vary depending on your medical history, travel plans, and the regions you will be visiting. While we are experts in operating safely in the Amazon wilderness, we are not medical professionals. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional or travel clinic before your trip, as they can provide the most accurate and up-to-date medical advice for your situation.
Our tour prices generally include all logistics from the city of Puerto Francisco de Orellana, accommodation, meals, river transportation, specialized guides, activities, and any required expedition equipment. Inclusions may vary depending on the level of customization and the type of expedition.
Depending on the type of tour, internet access is available in most glamping sites and lodges. However, during off-track hiking or canoeing expeditions deep in the Amazon, phone signal and internet access are usually unavailable, allowing for a fully immersive wilderness experience.
We recommend lightweight long-sleeve clothing, rain protection, hiking shoes or boots, insect repellent, sunscreen, personal medication, and waterproof bags for electronics. A detailed packing list is provided before every trip. A full list will be sent upon reservation.

Absolutely an incredible adventure! We were looking to experience the Amazon in the most remote areas in Ecuador. Our research lead us to Francis Boily and the Tukunari Lodge. Several members of our group were interested in the herpetofauna so Francis hired an Ecuadorian herpetologist to accompany us. For eight days we explored a remote area of the Amazon hiking jungle trails and marshes and paddling numerous tributaries. We observed many animals including numerous species of primates, amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates - including the “holy grail” of herpetology: the bushmaster! We also, interacted with the local communities and were treated to their customs and traditional foods. So, if you are looking for an authentic Amazon experience and not a fancy resort, Francis Boily (Travel the Amazon) and Tukunari Lodge are the best!

An Unforgettable Amazon Adventure!
We recently had the pleasure of embarking on a journey through the Ecuadorian rainforest with Travel the Amazon, and it was truly exceptional. Their passion, expertise and dedication to responsible tourism made this experience unforgettable.
To begin with, the itinerary crafted by our guide Francis was perfectly balanced, offering a mix of activities: from adventurous treks through the lush rainforest, and cruising down the rivers in search of the most incredible wildlife encounters to immersing ourselves in the rich indigenous culture through engaging conversations and interactions with the local community... every day was a day full of new and exciting experiences. The guide's genuine enthusiasm for sharing the wonders of the Amazon and his ability to tailor the tour to the interests and comfort levels of the group ensured that everyone felt engaged and fulfilled.
The accommodations in the heart of the rainforest were just perfect. The eco-friendly lodge and camp ground seamlessly blended with its surroundings, providing a comfortable and authentic stay. Waking up to the sounds of exotic birds and falling asleep to the rhythmic hum of the jungle was a surreal experience.
We cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone seeking an authentic, immersive and unforgettable stay in the heart of the Amazon.

Très belle expérience de 6 jours/5 nuits au bout du monde avec Francis et Enri. Nous avons tout d'abord passé 2 nuits au lodge ( rando en forêt, pêche au piranhas, sortie nocturne...) puis 2 nuits à 3 h de bateau proche de la frontière péruvienne ( rencontre avec la communauté Sequoia, balade en pirogue sur la lagune et dans des rivières à la recherche des dauphins roses, d'oiseaux divers et variés.... petite rando aussi...) puis retour au lodge pour la dernière nuit ! Que du plaisir en très bonne compagnie, nous étions 5 c'était parfait !!!
Donc nous ne pouvons que recommander ce tour en dehors des sentiers battus ❤️

Ils nous ont partagé leurs connaissances sur la faune, la flore et la manière de vivre au sein la communauté et son évolution ; leurs expériences, anecdotes et passion pour cet endroit qu'il faut préserver. Les lodges où nous avons dormi sont superbes, Barbara est à nos petits soins pour nous préparer de super repas. Dépaysement garanti et prise de recul sur beaucoup de sujets. Expérience incroyable que nous aurions aimé prolonger de plusieurs jours encore !
